Research and Development

Our research programs are all about gaining knowledge, considering new ideas and applying the concepts and topics we’ve studied and surveyed to better the experience for equity deserving communities—the same communities that other researcher scholars and organizations often bypass.

We’re looking to fill the gaps in society and establish equity, inclusion, education, wealth and ultimately success in equity deserving communities across the province and throughout Canada.

Wise

Dream is working with Pitch Better Canada (an organization that helps entrepreneurs in underrepresented communities access opportunities around the world and provides data and insights to help them grow their businesses) on a research project called WISE, which looks at the ways work integration social enterprises can better the lives of people in marginalized communities. Focusing on Black populations (including Black participants who have experience with the criminal justice system) in three major Canadian cities—Toronto, Montreal and Halifax—and studying four groups of people over four years, we will be looking at the various interventions that could potentially see these communities more integrated into our labour market.

This study will include more than 500 participants, and researchers will conduct interviews and follow participant experiences over a four-year period.

Ideal Participants are

  • Black and racialized people aged 18 and older (and non-racialized participants with support control groups)
  • Located in Toronto, Montreal or Halifax
