Youth Employment
We are passionate about youth employment and job training in the skilled trades within equity deserving communities. With 144 designated, recognized, in-demand trades in Ontario, opportunities in service, automotive, building, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical (and more!) abound.
Career Edge
We’re all about inspiring people to consider their interest in the skilled trades, so we created Career Edge—a two-step program that aims to assist more than 100 Black adults every year when it comes to supporting job training and gaining meaningful employment in the skilled trades. This support lets participants explore these fields, promote skills that are (and will continue to be) in demand, provide opportunities to meet with professionals and experts, and build and nurture long-term careers. The program’s delivery includes virtual reality (VR) simulations (such as tandem crane lifting), which eases the transition to real-world machinery. There’s training and networking, job-shadowing opportunities, employment-readiness workshops, career fairs and other invaluable interactive experiences that will help shape our participants’ future success.
Ideal Participants are
- Black young adults (ages 20 to 34) interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades
