Black Entrepreneurship Research Hub
A vital component of the federal government’s Black Entrepreneurship Program and in collaboration with the Sprott School of Business at Ottawa’s Carleton University and the Dream Legacy Foundation, the Black Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (also known as BEKH) is a national data and knowledge platform studying the state of Black entrepreneurship in Canada. Made up of six regional research hubs (made up of academic researchers, community organizations and post-secondary institutions), the program was conceptualized to generate research and data to help Black founders and businesses achieve success.
Behind BEKH
Not only are we gathering, analyzing and distributing the most updated data on Black entrepreneurs and the Black entrepreneurship journey in Canada, but we’re also building a national interactive network and geographic map of the country’s Black entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem with our Ecosystem Mapping Database designed to give businesses like yours visibility to customers, investors and more.
Our Research Skill-Building Workshops are designed for founders, community leaders and business owners and cover the entire research process, as well as the many benefits of our Ecosystem Mapping Database. Sessions are pre-recorded on Tuesdays, and we’re live on Thursdays at 2 p.m. EST via Zoom. You’ll come away with knowing exactly why it’s so important for your business to be on the map. We’re all about fuelling your entrepreneurial spirit.
